The Arts Council of Big Bear Valley
Founded in 1988, The Arts Council of Big Bear Valley is a local, California non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing and sharing the rich and vibrant arts community of the Big Bear Valley with residents and visitors alike. The Arts Council collaborates with local and visiting artists and producers to provide diverse offerings that span the visual arts, performing arts, music and cultural celebrations. Our aim is to encourage visitors and lower barriers to experiences and participation by offering affordable or sliding-scale fees, free community events, accessible facilities and programming that reflects and embraces cultural diversity.

tick, tick...Boom!, an electrifying semi-autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, creator of Rent, is a high-voltage celebration of creativity, ambition, and the relentless drive to make art that matters. Set in New York City on the eve of a composer’s 30th birthday, tick, tick…BOOM! crackles with urgency and the very real ache of a dreamer racing against the clock.

Join local authors Christie Walker Bos, Lori Brookes, and new this round — Sandy Foulkes for an evening of Spoken Words. This event will take place in Hofert Hall, adjacent to the Big Bear Theater Project's production of "tick, tick... BOOM!" at the Performing Arts Center.
This pre-show event "tick, tick...TALK!" will include a hearty fall-inspired dinner: Potato Leek Soup, Mixed Green Salad with House made dressing, Warm buttery yeast roll, and something special, sweet, and fortuitous for dessert. Drinks can be purchased at the concession.
The TALK! (Spoken Words) will be inspired by the precious commodity of time, and will prove to be inspirational. This show can be purchased as a stand-alone event or for a discounted price bundled with a ticket to "tick, tick... BOOM! Pre-sales only.
